Fotarlin had realised that he might be needed in Surda once again for another mission. He would have to leave his home, friends and his clan. He was not fond of the people in Surda but he was needed, like so many dwarves.

Fotarlin was sitting in his stone home. He was currently thinking of what and what not to pack. He would return but for how long and when? Would he return an old dwarf or as bones in a grave or would he return safe and sound?

Fotarlin looked round his home. The first item he glanced at was his bookcase. He had a large bag and his pony would be able to carry it as he travelled on another pony. So he looked through his books and smiled at all of them. He only put the important books and the ones he hadn't read in the bag. He then put in a block of wood and sharp carving for entertainment. He wrapped several loafs of bread and several bits of cheese and dropped it in the bag. He then dropped in clothes and a large skin bottle with cool, clear water inside.

Fotarlin finished off with a few items and then wrapped a belt round his hips. A sheath was on it. He sheathed his sword and put the quiver on his back with his bow on the quiver. The quiver had 200 arrows and had filled most of the quiver.

He was about to the leave when his door opened and someone stood before him. "What do you want?" asked Fotarlin curiously.
