Joined: Jan 2006 Gender: Male Posts: 2,015 Location: Texas Karma: 3 Practice RP: Iwik's Return « Thread Started on Dec 24, 2008, 8:34pm » (OOC: So anybody can join this, it's mostly just a little splurge on my part so that I can get back into the feel of writing and get myself accustomed too Iwik and the many attributes that come along with him. ) The snow that had been falling for the entire afternoon showed no sign of relinquishing it's frozen grip on the Spine as nightfall slowly overcame the vast mountain. Damn, I was hoping to have a slightly warmer night Iwik thought bitterly as he realized this fact. He had been praying to the God's that the winter weather would cease or at least move from his area before night fell, but now it was apparent that the God's either had more important business to attend to, or that Iwik was simply not in their favor. The 21 year old hunter let out a frustrated sigh. "Dinner, warmth, shelter," he said aloud, verbalizing his list of priorities in light of the new situation concerning the weather. He knew he could use magic in order to create a fire, but finding shelter and some food would be no easy task. Releasing another worn sigh, Iwik drew his bow and a single arrow and nocked it. Dinner was his first task. However, something off to Iwik's left crunched, a noise he recognized to be the compacting sound of snow beneath a foot-step. Almost instinctively, the hunter raised his bow and aimed at the spot from which the sound came. Iwik pulled back on the arrow until the base of the arrow-head rested comfortably just above his gloved knuckles, his middle and fore-finger serving as a holding point for the "business end" of the arrow shaft while his fore-finger and thumb held tightly onto the end of the goose-feathered arrow, ready to release at a moments notice of danger. "Show yourself, or be shot down. I warn you I am more than a novice in the art of archery," Iwik called threateningly into the dark beyond him.
